nu Ensemble - UNCSA

Images and descriptions from UNCSA Website:

Join us for an exhilarating evening with the nu Ensemble as they present a captivating concert featuring contemporary compositions by today's leading composers. The program includes Anna Clyne's “Undertow,” performed by a double woodwind quintet. Clyne’s composition is known for its intricate textures and dynamic interplay, creating a powerful and immersive auditory experience that sets the tone for the evening.

The audience will also be treated to David Lang's “Are You Experienced?” performed by a mixed chamber ensemble with electronics. This piece, featuring faculty artist Brent Harvey as the tuba soloist, challenges traditional notions of musical experience, blending avant-garde elements with a thought-provoking narrative and electronic enhancements.

Additionally, the UNCSA Percussion Ensemble will perform “Spring” by Aarush Bothra, a vibrant piece that captures the energy and renewal of the season. Accompanied by a visually stunning film, “Spring” brings an added dimension to the performance, combining rhythmic vitality with evocative imagery. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the nu Ensemble’s masterful interpretations of these contemporary works, showcasing the diverse and dynamic voices of modern music.
